Quilt for Sale - Queen African Water Wheel

This quilt features hand printed and hand dyed fair trade batiks made in Tanzania, Zimbabwe and South Africa.  It also includes many other unique fabrics, including hand made designer prints, traditional West African prints and batiks.  Main colors are shades of rose, coral, rust and chocolate brown on a dappled gray background.  This quilt is for people who enjoy the unpredictable nature of hand made textiles, as many of the fabrics have naturally occurring irregularities in pattern, dye and texture.  The background fabric is a textured gray color in an upcycled light weight canvas, making for a heavier, and cozier, than usual quilt.  The backing is composed of large pieces from these various lines that coordinate with the top fabrics (one photo attached).  

The quilt pattern is called Water Wheel and was designed by me many years ago while I was working on new uses of bold African prints.  Details of the professional machine quilting using a beautifully coordinating variegated thread in a free motion wavy sun ray pattern can be seen in the closeup photo. The quilt measures 92" x 104" and is appropriate for a double bed (19" drop), a queen bed (16" drop) or placed sideways on a low king bed with a foot board (12" drop).
