Large Sashiko Panels
Dating back to the 17th century, Sashiko is a Japanese stitching practice (loosely translated to "little stabs") that is often used to strengthen fabric and repair clothing, blankets and other articles, but it is simultaneously an artful expression of imperfect beauty. While we can always learn more about Sashiko and try to stitch from scratch in a more authentic way, many people choose to begin their Sashiko experience using these preprinted panels.
Imported from various Japanese manufacturers, these very light weight cotton panels measure approximately 18" wide x 45" long. Stitch on water-soluble stamped lines with Sashiko thread, embroidery thread or perle cotton. You will need approximately 80 metres of Sashiko thread per panel.
