Tilt-a-Square by Bella Nonna

This pattern is an old favourite designed by Bella Nonna. It features raw edge appliqued squares - perfect for showcasing variegated thread - for a whimsical look.  You can use any fabrics of any colour, design and scale combination, but it works especially with woven fabrics, such as Japanese yarn dyes, if you like the antiqued or rag quilt look.  The pattern makes a lap or small throw quilt measuring 42" x 52," but you can easily adjust the size.  

The additional photos show two versions of Tilt-a-Square made by Kallisti Quilts.  The first one is a current quilt kit made with Japanese textured fabrics in neutral colours and the second quilt showcases West African prints.
