Sold Quilt - Donuts

One of two new variations of Donuts, this quilt features pretty cotton prints from the Japanese Dobby Cloth collection.  All fabrics, including the background, are woven with a slubby thread, creating additional texture.  Colours are vibrant red, royal purple and warm green on a yellowish cream background.  Fabric designs are small to medium scale traditional prints with traditional motifs, such as cherry blossoms, bamboo, hemp leaf and cranes.  The quilt pattern is a simple but bold, modern design called Donuts and was created by Toronto quilt artist and teacher Johanna Masko.  The pattern is available for purchase separately and my retired shop sample was sold with permission.  The quilt measures approximately 51" x 63" and is appropriate for a wall hanging, small throw or child's quilt.
