Quilt for Sale - West African wall hanging
This quilt has been reduced to 50% of its original price. It features dramatic cotton fabrics imported from various West African countries, but mainly Senegal, paired with regular American tone on tone quilting prints. These African prints are manufactured for traditional clothing, but they also make bold and durable quilts. Motifs include Adinkra tribal designs and other traditional motifs such as shells, masks, elephants and women carrying items on their heads. Colours are black, grey and shades of bright yellow with beige, cream and metallic gold accents. The pattern is my own design loosely based on the traditional Log Cabin pattern. Details of the machine quilting in coordinating variegated yellow thread can be seen in the closeup photo. The quilt measures 50" x 52" and is most appropriate for a wall hanging or small throw. There is a flat sleeve across the back of the quilt for easy hanging.
*Please note that, due to the sensitive nature of the metallic gold paint on a few of the West African prints, this quilt will not withstand repeated or frequent laundering and is suited to a wall hanging more than a lap quilt.*
